Trust

A warm welcome to all regular members (more like awesome members) and new members alike. Glad to see you on the mat and here on my website.

Thanks to the Chat box on Zoom! Yogis came together in trust. We trusted each other, the process, the yoga, and Zoom :) I trusted leaving my dog, Spirit, loose in the room while we filmed the class (he was good).

I suggested to students that something awesome happens when you sync up with your breath. We trusted that our collaborative effort would prove beneficial. Students made their requests. With the “trust” class, I don’t plan ahead. A hard thing for a planner like me … relate anyone? I pulled up my little stool to the laptop screen and yogis typed their requests into the chat box while others unmuted and gave a shout out of their favorite pose.

Lots of requests were made for both classes this week. Some repeats arrived like happy pose, aka, triangle pose, plus half moon and twists. On Thursday, we deepened into revolved twists, eloquently unfolding from revolved triangle into revolved half moon like prayer flags. I encouraged students to notice “what’s going on today?” And then, honor what is, what’s true for them. That’s really yoga condensed!

Other poses we played with included variations of boat, bellow breathing, camel, dancer, glute stretches, hip openers, and relief for shoulders and neck.

An extra piece this week was a focus on the sound of Om. I believe we are all looking for tools and resources to help us during Covid. Chanting Om can create an energetic shift. Om is a powerful tool for bringing focus and awareness to the deeper meaning of life. The use of the Om sound is one way to help you connect to the Divine support available to you now. Changing this sound can guide you away from fear, distress and anguish, and towards the light and love at the center of your being. Try it anytime during your day. If you feel low or stuck, chant a deep Om and let it clear your path. Jai and Namaste, Lynn
